CABIN FEVER FILM FEST’S BIWEEKLY SHORTS COMPETITION

In an effort to keep our creative juices flowing, maintain momentum and foster community during the National Emergency declared for COVID-19, we’re hosting a biweekly short film competition.

THE WINNER OF EACH ROUND WILL BE SCREENED AT OUR QUARANTINE-FREED FILM FESTIVAL: CABIN FEVER FILM FESTIVAL in Los Angeles, CA once the national emergency has been lifted (Date and Location TBD).

All eligible submissions are showcased online via our YouTube page.

EVERY SHORT MUST INCLUDE:

ONE OF THE ROUND’S GENRES

THE ROUND’S LINE PROMPT

& BE BETWEEN 1 & 7 MINUTES LONG
(INCLUDING CREDITS)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. You must be an approved member of the private Facebook group.
  2. Your short must be between 1 mins & 7 mins long (including credits).
  3. Your short must be original material – written, shot and edited within the allotted month (from the time of the line prompt & genres are announced on Sunday to the deadline of the Saturday 2 weeks following).
  4. Your film must be made in one of the 3 allotted genres and include the allotted month’s line prompt – does not have to be word for word (released on the PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP at DAWN (PDT) on the first Sunday of the month).
  5. ALL PROOF of SOUND licensing/rights must be submitted WITH YOUR COMPLETED FILM in the GOOGLE DRIVE FOLDER via a SHARED LINK (with editing permission) through THE CABIN FEVER SHORTS COMPETITION SUBMISSION FORM by 10:00 AM PDT on the SATURDAY, two weeks following the line/genre drops. (Films will be screened at 1080p/23.976fps; mastering in that format is suggested but not strictly required. Any widely used high-definition format will work).
  6. You must include the CFFF LOGO in the credits (available to download below).
  7. You must respect social distancing and any quarantine/lockdown rules and regulations mandated by YOUR LOCAL & FEDERAL government (US and INTERNATIONAL ).
  8. Hate or racism will not be showcased or tolerated and any films including this kind of content will be disqualified.

COLLABORATE with others you are QUARANTINED WITH or VIA ONLINE RESOURCES. We don’t want to potentially spread the virus; we just want our ‘show families’ to stay active, creating and networking during this challenging time. So have fun, stay safe, and HAPPY FILM MAKING!

If you are using SAG-AFTRA talent you must fill out a SHORT FILM PRELIMINARY INFORMATION FORM (before shooting – we have a rep that will expedite your approval – SEE SAG tab in FB GROUP for more info). Once approved include your Short Film Agreement & Performer Contract(s) in your submission.
